Flower Mound resident, Debbie Sardone, the founder and president of Buckets & Bows Maid Service, is a familiar face (and voice) in the North Texas media and beyond, having appeared several times on local morning shows, hosting her own radio podcast Cleaning UP with Debbie Sardone, and more.

Now she’s made national news as founder and president of Cleaning For A Reason, a nonprofit organization that serves the United States and Canada, giving the gift of free house cleaning to women undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Their goal is to let these women focus on their health and treatment while Cleaning For A Reason focuses on taking away the work and worry of cleaning their homes.

Yankees Manager Joe Girardi

Debbie and Cleaning For A Reason were chosen to be the Day 2 honorees of the New York Yankee’s 2016 HOPE Week, shining a light on this non-profit so worthy of recognition. On Tuesday, June 7, Debbie and a volunteer team from a local cleaning company together with New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi and players Carlos Beltrán, Starlin Castro, and Jacoby Ellsbury surprised cancer patient and mother of two, Marybell Ruiz, when they showed up at her door to clean her home. That evening at Yankee Stadium, Debbie and Marybell threw out the ceremonial first pitches and enjoyed the game with Marybell’s family.
