Lewisville, TX – July 2025 — Buckets & Bows Maid Service is proud to announce that its founder, Debbie Sardone, has been named to the prestigious Forbes 50 Over 50 list, an annual recognition of women making extraordinary contributions in their industries and communities. Sardone was honored for her impactful work as the founder of Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit organization providing free home cleaning services to cancer patients across the United States and Canada.
Debbie began her entrepreneurial journey in Lewisville, Texas, starting Buckets & Bows Maid Service from the trunk of her car. Over the years, the company grew to become one of the largest privately owned residential cleaning services in the nation.
But it was one phone call that forever changed her mission. A woman undergoing cancer treatment reached out to cancel her cleaning service because she could no longer afford it. That conversation lit a spark that would grow into something much bigger.
In 2006, Debbie founded Cleaning for a Reason to ensure that no one battling cancer would have to face their diagnosis while also worrying about a clean home. Since its inception, the organization has provided free cleaning services to over 60,000 cancer patients, partnered with more than 1,400 cleaning companies, and donated upwards of $20 million in services.
“This Forbes honor belongs to the 1,400 cleaning companies that volunteer through Cleaning For A Reason,” Debbie said. “Together we’ve delivered more than $20 million in free cleanings to 60,000 cancer patients—proof that small businesses, united by a single mission, can make a nationwide difference.”
