A little history of Coppell, TX.
Coppell being a young city, incorporated in 1955, has older roots to the first settlers in the 1840s. Originally the area is known as Gibbs Station and given its present name in honor of the engineer George A. Coppell, who brought the railroad to the city in 1890. After its incorporation, in 1974 the Dallas Fort Worth Airport was built and brought in rapid development to the city.
